Effectiveness Level of Gel Combination Binahong Leaf and Turmeric Rhizome Extract on The Mature Collagen of IIB Degree Burns in Rats

The aim of this research was to evaluate the effect administering a combination gel binahong leaf and turmeric rhizome extracts on mature collagen IIB degree Burns in rat. A total 25 male rats, 3 months age, 150-200 gram body weight were used. This consists five treatments. P0 normal skin, P1 used 1% silver sulfadiazine, P2, P3, P4 with increase concentration extract i.e. 1.25%, 2.5%, 5%, while i. e 2% for each treatment. Treatments have been given topically 14 days, twice day, started after burn wound application. At end treatment period, skin excision carried out, then histopathological examination performed. Microscopic observation healing process density showed that not significant difference P3 P4, but P2. better is allegedly because activity saponin, tannin, contained curcumin proven be effective topical burns therapy.
